Businesses generally don’t have to give ICE access to private areas or consent to searches without a judicial warrant, but agents may still enter public customer spaces.

Like any law enforcement agency, ICE agents generally need a judicial warrant or your permission to enter private, employee-only areas such as kitchens, offices, or storage rooms. Staff can calmly ask to see identification and any warrant before allowing access beyond public spaces.
